Warning on phone credit card scam

The police force have got warned recognition card holders about a cozenage carried out by felons posing as security force from the card provider.


The victim is asked to verify a peculiar payment on their business relationship and to read out the three-digit security codification on the dorsum of the card.


When that is done, the company states the information have helped set a halt to a deceitful charge.


However, the security codification is instead used to obtain money from the account.


The first that the cardholder will cognize is when the complaint looks on their adjacent statement.


A police force spokesman said: "Your depository financial institution will never inquire you to read Numbers from your card - after all, it issued the card in the first topographic point so already cognizes the numbers."
